About Me.

Hello, I’m Jessica (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

I work with youth, young adults, and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Many of the people I support are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, low motivation or confidence, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss, body image concerns, and substance use. I also have experience working with more complex mental health concerns, including mood fluctuations and emotional dysregulation.

My approach is grounded in creating a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. I aim to meet you where you are, moving at a pace that feels right for you, while helping you build insight, resilience, and meaningful change.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a high school teacher for five years, teaching English, History, Dance, and Drama. That experience continues to shape how I connect—bringing patience, creativity, and a genuine appreciation for each person’s unique story.

Outside of my work, I’m a runner (having completed several half marathons and a full marathon), a yogi, and someone who feels most grounded in nature. I also share my life with my dog, Addie, who is a constant reminder of the importance of presence, connection, and joy in the little things.

My Approach.

My approach to therapy is holistic, integrative, and collaborative which allows me to meet the unique needs and experiences of my clients. In my therapy practice, I use an attachment-based, IFS informed, psychodynamic approach which involves exploring and understanding how different parts of ourselves (developed typically during early childhood and young adult life experiences) may impact a person's state of being, thoughts/beliefs, emotions, physical sensations, behavioural patterns, and overall ways of coping.

More specific modalities and approaches I use include:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to create harmony and balance among our inner parts/system (Intensive training completed May 2022 & July 2022 with the IFS Counselling Association - IFSCA)

  • EMDR

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Depression and Anxiety disorders

  • Mindful Self-Compassion Therapy (MSCT)

  • Emotion-Freedom Technique, also know as EFT Tapping (Level 3 EFT Practitioner trained by Debra Coffey)

  • Mindfulness and Meditative practices

  • Polyvagal Theory: Exercises for Safety and Connection
